Where to stay in Canggu, Bali
Canggu can be found on the southern coast of Bali, Indonesia’s most well-known island. The small village is framed by world-class surf spots, Hindu temples, high-end shopping, dining and resorts. Within Canggu, there are a few neighborhoods that serve as great places to stay during your visit.
What was once a sleepy village, Pererenan is up and coming with its excellent surf scene, a multitude of trendy cafes, and gorgeous natural scenery. It also happens to be home to Outsite Bali.
Slightly slower than Canggu's downtown area, Berawa hosts many great restaurants, and shops, and is situated close to the ocean.
One of the trendiest neighborhoods, Echo Beach is known for its exciting nightlife, shopping, and beaches. It's situated in the center but isn't especially overpopulated with tourists.

Day Trips & Excursions from Canggu
Tukad Cepung Waterfall
A little over an hour and a half away from Canggu is Tukad Cepung Waterfall. You'll find it off of a forest trail, tucked discreetly into the landscape with water tumbling through the opening of a cave illuminated by the sun.
Situated inland, and just under an hour away from Canggu is Bali's spiritual center, Ubud. The city itself feels a little more touristic than Canguu but still maintains its local traditions. While you're here, make sure to visit the Monkey Forest, the Tegallalang rice terrace, and the Goa Gajah (elephant cave).
This is Bali’s shopping district. You'll find lots of beach resorts, luxury hotels, villas, and spas, as well as high-end shopping and restaurants.
Bali's best waves are found here, so you can imagine this region attracts many surfers. It's also home to many breathtaking beaches such as Dreamland, Padang Padang, Binging, Nyang Nyang, Melasti, and more. Its hilltops are decorated with beach villas, trendy cafes, great restaurants, and beach clubs.
Shopping and Groceries in Canggu
Pepito Market Canggu
This is a centrally located supermarket with a robust selection of local and imported products, produce, animal protein, and toiletries. There's also a bakery inside. This can be a one stop shop with the pharmacy located next door.
Head here for specialty items and health foods. There is a wide variety of organic produce, grains, coffees, nuts, seeds, and more. Be sure to bring your own jar or use a paper bag as most items are sold in bulk.
Getting Around Canggu
One of the easiest and cheapest ways to get around is by hiring a scooter. Mopeds are around 60,000 IDR to 80,000 IDR per day for a 125cc scooter, though you can often manage to get a lower price depending on how long you're staying.
While Uber is no longer active in Bali, there are other ride-sharing apps that are available here. Grab and Gojek are both popular apps used to hail a ride.
